Install and configure
- From Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Add the Ledger theme ZIP to your theme library, then open Customize.
- Set your logo, colors, typography, buttons, card styles, and social sharing image in Theme settings.
- Choose the menus used by the header, mobile drawer, utility navigation, mega menus, and footer.
- Connect homepage product and collection sections to real resources.
- Preview desktop and mobile layouts before publishing.

Design system
Ledger centralizes store-wide visual decisions so sections remain consistent. Configure body and heading typography, heading scale and case, foreground and background colors, button treatment, form inputs, card aspect ratios, image fit, borders, and motion.
Recommended workflow
- Start with brand colors and typography before adjusting individual sections.
- Use one consistent product-card image ratio for technical catalogs.
- Keep motion subtle and verify the reduced-motion experience.
- Upload a social sharing image for links that do not have product or article media.

Every section provides its own content, layout, and color controls. Section availability can vary by template context.
05 / Product template
Product merchandising
The product template supports grid, stacked, and carousel media layouts; variant controls; swatches; quantities; dynamic checkout; Shop Pay installments; unit pricing; stock and pickup information; specifications; gift-card recipient fields; product recommendations; custom Liquid; and app blocks.
Variant and media setup
- Use clear option names such as Size, Color, Material, or Pack.
- Assign variant images where visual differences matter.
- Add color or image swatches through Shopify category metafields.
- Complete SKU, barcode, inventory, weight, and unit pricing data where applicable.
- Add rich media in Shopify admin; Ledger renders supported product media responsively.
Sticky purchase panel
Enable sticky add-to-cart behavior for long technical pages. Keep essential variant and price information above optional specification or storytelling blocks.
06 / Collection template
Large-catalog browsing
Collection pages include sorting, storefront filters, pagination, stock and sale states, vendor and SKU details, swatch links, quick add, and quick view.
07 / Cart
Cart and checkout paths
Ledger includes an Ajax cart drawer and a full cart template. Both support line-item details, quantities, removal, discounts, selling plans, original and final prices, unit prices, cart notes, taxes-included messaging, and accelerated checkout buttons when available.
Checkout configuration, payment methods, shipping rates, and tax behavior remain controlled by Shopify admin.

Apps and custom code
Ledger supports Shopify theme app blocks where the template context permits them. Add app blocks through the theme editor after installing a compatible app.
The Custom Liquid section is intended for merchant-owned snippets and trusted integrations. Custom code and third-party apps are outside Ledger support unless an issue can be reproduced with the app disabled.

Inclusive storefronts
Ledger includes visible keyboard focus, semantic landmarks, responsive controls, reduced-motion behavior, descriptive labels, and keyboard-accessible carousel navigation. Merchants remain responsible for accessible content.
- Write meaningful image alt text.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast when changing the palette.
- Use descriptive link and button labels.
- Keep heading levels logical.
- Caption video and provide text alternatives for essential visual information.

Version 0.6.0
This release adds a shoppable-look section, multi-product bundle builder, product carousel, recently viewed products, and a refreshed demo homepage. It also expands product and cart compliance features, including gift-card recipient fields, pickup availability, unit pricing, split option selectors, localization, and Follow on Shop.
Before replacing an existing customized theme, duplicate it and record custom code changes. Theme updates do not automatically merge merchant modifications.
